Notifications get swiped. Texts get read.
You have trained yourself to dismiss app notifications without reading them; nobody has trained themselves to ignore a text message. That gap is the entire reason SMS works here. The message lands in the same thread as your friends and your dentist, and it gets the same two seconds of attention they do.
Replying is the whole interface
Text "did the gym" and the habit is logged. Text "push the deck to tomorrow" and the deadline moves. There is no syntax and no commands — you write the way you'd write to a person, and the coach updates your plan behind the scenes. For a lot of users this becomes the primary way they use the product; they go weeks without opening the app.
Three moments, not constant pinging
Morning sets the plan. Midday catches the drift, which is where most days are actually lost. Evening closes the loop and feeds tomorrow. It is deliberately not a stream of motivational messages — that gets muted within a week.
A note on what this costs
SMS coaching is a Premium feature, because every message has a real per-message cost on our side. Pro includes the voice calls and everything else; Premium adds the all-day text layer.
